Every driver can be a pro with Nissan’s ProPILOT golf ball!
Nissan has just released its latest in innovative concepts with the ProPILOT golf ball, inspired by the new ProPILOT 2.0 driver assistance system.
Inspired by Nissan’s ProPILOT 2.0 driver assistance technology that will be debuting in Japan next month on the all-new Nissan Skyline, the technology is designed for on-ramp to offramp highway driving and engages with the vehicle’s navigational system to assist in moving the car on a predefined route on designated highways. It’s the first-ever system in the world to combine this with hands-free driving while riding in a single lane.
The ProPILOT golf ball is similar to the ProPILOT 2.0 technology helps to assist avid golfers by following a predefined route to the end goal. Using Nissan Intelligent Mobility, players can feel confident that their target will be reached on every single putt. Nissan’s vision for how cars are powdered and driven has been integrated into how the golf ball navigates its way across the green into the putt for a stress-free golfing experience.
When the ball is hit, an overhead camera picks up the position of the ball and the end goal using a monitoring system that calculates the best route based on the ball’s movement and changes its trajectory. The ProPILOT golf ball uses sensing technology with an internal motor to ensure the ball stays on the route until reaching the putt, and is perfect to help novice golfers feel like seasonal pros.
The ProPILOT golf ball is just one of the items in a series of concepts that have been inspired by Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies, with previous examples including the Intelligent Parking Chair, the ProPILOT Chair as well as the ProPILOT Park Ryokan.
Some of the first to test out the ProPILOT golf ball will be able to take a swing at Nissan Global Headquarters Gallery in Yokohama in September.
