News > Crafted to Conquer: The 2021 Nissan Patrol NISMO makes its debut in Dubai

Recently in Dubai, Nissan has revealed the latest model in the NISMO range of performance vehicles, the 2021 Nissan Patrol NISMO. This special Patrol comes equipped with a striking exterior and performance enhancements to create a unique performance SUV based on the current version of the legendary Nissan Patrol.

The launch of the NISMO marks the beginning of a yearlong celebration of the Patrol range as 2021 marks the ranges 70th anniversary since its inception.

This latest model in the NISMO range highlights Nissan’s commitment to creating exciting, high-performance vehicles for customers looking for not only power especially in the Patrols case luxury.

The Nissan Patrol NISMOs exterior has been aerodynamically optimized along with its suspension to improve handling capabilities and to achieve zero lift force. In its interior, it incorporates unique ergonomic upgrades and the latest in Nissan Intelligent Mobility features.

Thierry Sabbagh, Managing Director, Nissan Middle East said: “Since the launch of the NISMO brand in the region, we have listened to our customers to understand their evolving needs, and worked with our global teams to deliver a NISMO product that not only addresses customer demand but also takes the iconic Patrol experience to a whole new level. With the 2021 Patrol NISMO, our customers can experience the thrill of handling a car with a racing spirit and turn heads as they glide through the streets.”

The Nissan Patrol NISMO makes a big focus on the Middle East market where it joins the 370Z NISMO and GT-R NISMO.

“The exciting enhancements to the 2021 Patrol NISMO make it the ultimate mark for performance, luxury and respect and adds to our strong Patrol proposition and overall business strategy to ensure we remain a class apart in the region. We are proud to launch this product exclusively for our customers in the Middle East, especially as we mark the 70th anniversary of the Patrol – and look forward to seeing our customers discover what this eye-catching SUV has to offer,” Sabbagh continued.

Sculpted to Perfection
Mitsunori Morita, Chief Designer for NISMO said: “Designing NISMO road cars is both a challenge and a beautiful opportunity to express our passion for design on a superlative level. We designed Nissan Patrol NISMO with a unique customer in mind, one with a true passion for performance. We consider every finest detail to provide the most exciting and authentic experience to fuel the adrenaline and inspire the imagination of the excitement seekers.”
“Our aim when designing the new Nissan Patrol NISMO was to gives customers a sense of confidence and pride of owning it. It features a sophisticated aerodynamic form and the size and presence of a premium-class SUV – which when combined with its overwhelming power makes it stand out and establishes its higher grade as a symbol of true performance,” he continued.
To highlight the performance and exclusivity offered in the Patrol NISMO the front fascia features a new honeycomb three-dimensional mesh grill along with new front lamps, this bold trend continues to the rear of the vehicle with dark chrome inserts, new tail lamps and Formula 1 inspires LED rear fog lights. The signature NISMO red line wrap runs around the length of the vehicle while imposing 22-inch two-tone aluminium sport wheels hide Bilstein shock absorbers for improved handling.

The interior of the Patrol NISMO offers a blend of pure luxury and NISMO’s racing pedigree with spacious front seats and premium quality quilted leather and Alcantara present everywhere. The sports steering wheel is also covered in Alcantara and gains red carbon fibre inserts while the signature NISMO logo is featured on the headrests.

Passion for Performance
To match its bold design the NISMO team needed to ensure that the Patrol offered up proper performance and they never fail to deliver. Each Patrol is tuned by Nissan’s legendary Takumi team, these 4 master engine builders are responsible for hand-building the GT-R engines and using their skills they tune the Patrol’s V8 engine to produce 319 kW and 560Nm of torque.

The addition of a side duct on the front bumper allows the Patrol to achieve zero lift force and when combined with lighter wheels and a new roof spoiler it allows the Patrol to offer improved braking performance and a body that better handles high speeds.

The addition of the latest Nissan Intelligent Mobility systems will give the driver greater peace of mind, they include, Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Smart Rear-View Mirror and a High Beam Assist. The entertainment system also now boasts Apple CarPlay and wireless charging.

The Patrol NISMO has not yet been confirmed for the South African market so for now we will have to make do with the already epic standard Patrol range. For a test drive and more info on availabilities speak to your salesperson.
